Send the complete period
- Statements for every agreed bank and credit card account.
- Sales, invoice, and payment-processing reports used by the business.
- Receipts and invoices with a business-purpose note where needed.
- Documents for new accounts, loans, equipment, refunds, or unusual activity.
- Answers to the previous month’s open questions.
Mention changes instead of waiting for questions
Tell your bookkeeper when you open a card, move money between accounts, change a payment system, or start a new line of work. An unexplained deposit can take much longer to investigate than a brief note sent with the records.
Use a consistent handoff
Agree on a secure sharing method and a monthly due date. Keep original documents and use filenames that identify the account and month. Avoid sending passwords or account numbers through the initial consultation form.
Ask what is still missing
End the handoff with a short check: Are all agreed accounts covered? Are any receipts missing? Which questions prevent the month from being finalized? A clear list makes it easier to finish the records and keep next month from becoming a catch-up project.
