Start with your business and tax year
Whether you are looking for a tax person for a small business, help with self-employment records, or guidance on an LLC filing, start by describing your entity, ownership, and the year involved. The owner will confirm which return and services she can handle before accepting the work.
Prepare the records together
Bring up your current bookkeeping system, any outstanding months, and where income and expense records are kept. If the books are ready, we can discuss filing. If they need work first, agree on a separate cleanup scope so the figures used for preparation have a clear basis.
Understand what is included
Ask which filings are covered, what information you must provide, the expected process, and how fees are determined. Prior-year returns, notices, amendments, payroll, and state filings should be discussed individually rather than assumed to be included.
Review before filing
Plan time to answer questions and review the completed return through the agreed process. Ask how signing, filing confirmation, copies, and any payments will be handled. Do not send identification or tax documents through the initial consultation form.
